Camp Life Light

The 8th Annual Great Falls Rescue Mission Camp Life Light was a huge success.

During the six and a half week day camp, 84 kids, ages 6-15, attended camp. On an average day, 49 children attended camp.

But more important than the numbers were the ways that children’s lives were touched. Many children deepened their faith in Jesus, and more than 20 accepted Christ for the first time or rededicated their lives. Many children had a desire to learn what the Bible teaches. They asked specific questions during small group discussions about Jesus’ life, Heaven and Hell and how to be saved.

During Day Camp and Resident Camp, the Summer Missionaries conducted daily chapel services and taught topics on Creation, the attributes of God and about Jesus’ life. Other activities included crafts, music, games and various sports.

In August, 50 children, ages 8-15, attended a week-long overnight Resident at Camp Utmost. It was a Spirit-filled fun time for all of the children during the week. Most poignant was a session during overnight camp called “Big Questions.” Children were asked to anonymously write questions about the lessons or their faith. The questions showed a remarkable sincerity and desire to know Christ. Some of the questions asked were, “How can God be three and one?,” “Why did God die for us?,” “Does God sin?” and “Why would Jesus love everyone?”

The Summer Missionaries were able to answer those questions with Scripture and the children read the Scripture in the Bibles that were donated to them.

Each child at the overnight camp was able to personalize their own Bible and take it home with them at the end of camp.
